Open kitchen with island
A closed 1970s kitchen opened up to the living room to make one bright space for cooking, eating and spending time together.
Project brief
The owners cooked every day but had a narrow, dark kitchen with little storage and no room for a table. They wanted to see the living room while cooking and needed space for the children to do homework.
Our solution
After a structural check we removed the dividing wall and added a steel beam. The new layout has floor-to-ceiling units, a quartz worktop and an island with seating for four, plus new electrics, LED lighting and porcelain floor tiles running into the living room.
